Rock adrenaline is coming to Riga. On 12 October, British post-punk quintet Shame will take over concert hall Palladium with a performance that proves even apparent chaos on stage can transform into tightly polished interplay. The band will bring their explosive energy and raw charisma, guaranteed to make the audience lose their minds. Tickets go on sale from 6 June at 10:00 via Biļešu Serviss. Members of the FBI and Positivus concert club will have early access starting 5 June at 12:00, using a code sent to registered users.
This concert is a highly anticipated event for fans of classic post-punk and modern British rock. Many will remember last year’s shows at Palladium Riga with Fontaines D.C. as a spiritual experience and still hold out hope for a future visit from Idles.
The five-piece band Shame functions like a single organism. Each member instinctively senses what the others will do next, not through pre-planned choreography, but driven by the raw power of the music, youthful punk energy and complete command of their instruments. While the show may appear spontaneous and chaotic, especially to those caught in the storm of the mosh pit, what really happens on stage is a display of masterful coordination. Their seemingly unhinged energy is held together by a powerful, almost telepathic connection between bandmates. It is this magic of tight musical chemistry that pulls listeners into a trance. Since forming in South London in 2014, Shame has performed with the same lineup, which only strengthens this bond.
Shame is a band best experienced live, and demand for their concert recordings is proof. They have released several official live albums across all major physical formats. Before their debut studio album even came out, they released "Live at Génériq Festival 17-2-17, Dijon" (2017) on cassette. "Live Sermons" (2018) followed on CD, capitalizing on the momentum of their breakthrough. "Live In The Flesh" (2021) came out on 12” vinyl. Most of their singles have also been released on 7” records. The band’s electrifying presence was especially evident when their debut album topped vinyl sales charts in the UK during its release month in January 2018. Their second album, "Drunk Tank Pink" (2021), expanded their reach, gaining greater recognition across streaming platforms as well.
