Art Riga Fair Paper 2026. Starptautiskā mākslas izstāde
ART RIGA FAIR PAPER
International art graphic exhibition.
From February 9 to 15, the Railway Museum will host an international art exhibition ART RIGA FAIR PAPER. Continuing the decade-long tradition of ART RIGA FAIR, the exhibition exhibits will not only be available for viewing, but also for purchase. The exhibition will feature outstanding Latvian graphic artists as well as participants from Japan, France, Canada, Lithuania, Estonia and other countries.
Graphic art is one of the most accessible ways to start building an art collection. It allows you to purchase original works of art and get to know the artists' handwriting, techniques and ideas right from the very beginning of your collecting journey.
By collecting graphic arts, you can gradually develop your understanding of contemporary art - learning to observe, compare and choose. It is an opportunity to build a close, personal relationship with a work of art and become part of a living, creative process.
The ART RIGA FAIR PAPER exhibition is dedicated to graphic art as one of the most conceptually rich areas of contemporary art. It brings together artists who work with various graphic techniques, approaches and visual languages in their creative practice, revealing the broad expressive possibilities of graphics in the context of contemporary art.
The exhibition features artists who represent classical printmaking techniques and experimental, modern approaches. Visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with works created in engraving, etching, aquatint, drypoint, linocut, lithography, as well as mixed and hybrid techniques.
An essential part of the exhibition is also original graphics and drawings, where the works are created as unique art objects using pencil, ink, pastel and other traditional forms of graphic expression. In addition, the exhibition also includes works in which graphic technologies are combined with digital solutions, expanding the boundaries and interpretation possibilities of graphics.
ART RIGA FAIR PAPER emphasizes the importance of paper as a material – not only as a medium, but as an active component of a work of art. Here, paper becomes a space for experiments, tactile experiences and conceptual dialogue between technique, idea and form.
In the context of ART RIGA FAIR PAPER, paper is not a passive basis for an image, but a full-fledged participant in the artistic process. It is a material with memory, resistance and character – a surface that accumulates touches, pressure, time and thought. Each imprint, each line and texture reveals not only the image, but also the act of creation itself.
The exhibition also includes a book publishers’ zone with an exhibition of book illustrations and a wide range of art books and albums.
During the exhibition, etching, calligraphy and paper cutting workshops will be held, and visitors will be able to participate in master classes led by artists.
