ARA MALIKIAN – KING OF VIOLINS

On August 26 at 7pm in Jurmala, in the Dzintari Concert Hall, one of the brightest and most expressive violinists of his generation, ARA MALIKIAN, will perform. This musician's artistic style of playing the violin, his rich musical experience and innovative approach have become a special brand in the world music scene.

Ara Malikyan's concert at the Dzintari Concert Hall will take the audience through different musical styles, as the musician, known for his eclectic style, has included in his repertoire arrangements of works by a wide variety of musicians –  from David Bowie to Johann Sebastian Bach and Led Zeppelin, from Björk to Paganini. The violinist's performance will be enriched and complemented by the “Royal Garage” group founded by him.

The musician was born in 1968 in Lebanon in an Armenian family and gave his first concert at the age of 12. He studied violin at a music school in Hannover and later in London.

Ara Malikyan's charismatic personality and phenomenal energy have earned him countless prizes, making him an incredibly sought-after musician. During his career, he has performed with more than 40 world-famous artists and ensembles, including Sting, the London Chamber Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and others.
