American songwriter Matt Simons will perform in Latvia for the very first time

The Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matt Simons
will perform in Palladium concert hall at the end of the year, on December 4th. The concert in Riga is to support his latest album “After The Landslide” and the tour will include at least 37 shows around 16 European countries.
It’s not a big surprise that in this modern digital age an artist who was born and is living in US his first success in music achieved in Europe, Netherlands. At first his songs worked realy well on the internet and soon musician had dedicated fan base and he traveled to Netherlands to play a few small concerts. In the audience of one of those shows was a writer for one of the biggest Dutch television shows and it was then he learned what the words “overnight sensation” truly meant. He appeared as a guest judge on the Dutch version of the X-Factor.

His song With You was a top seller on iTunes, finishing 29th on the top selling songs of 2013 in the Netherlands. It out-sold The Lumineers’ ‘Ho Hey’; it beat Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’. His second album Čatch and Release’ Matt Simons wrote in three weeks and worked with six different producers in US and Europe. Matt’s philosophy is: “I think you take the tools that you have acquired and try to make something meaningful out of it.”

The biggest hit of Matt’s newest album ‘After The Landslide‘ is ‘We Can Do Better” reached over 80 million global streams, 2 months in the Top 10 European Airplay chart. His collaboration with LA-based artist Amy Kuney - ‘Amy’s Song’, with its acclaimed campaign video message of love, acceptance, and equality, show a deeper side of his song writing and have further bolstered a burgeoning career. Meanwhile ‘Open Up’ is about to enter the Top 30 European Airplay chart and is becoming another European airplay hit.
After The Landslide’ is his biggest, most ambitious, most personal record yet. With nods to both Bon Iver, and Springsteen, it’s a record that approaches some of The Big Themes in our lives – love, loss, grief, and the power it takes to get through it all. Matt’s piano-rooted melodies ally themselves to lyrics that speak plainly, sometimes starkly, about important events in his life, and with these he crafts songs that make the personal ‘universal’.
Matt Simons about upcoming tour says: “I am so thrilled to head out on this massive Fall tour. I'm really looking forward to visiting a ton of cities I've never played before as well as returning to some of my old favorites. It will be a very special evening with an eclectic mix of songs from my entire catalogue. Playing shows is my favorite thing to do and I can't wait to spend my winter in Europe.”

Tickets in www.bilesuserviss.lv network starting Friday, April 12th at 10am.
